Getting To Inis Meáin

Aer Arann
3 flights per day to Inis Meain from Connamara Airport . Flights are at 09.00 and 10.30 and also 16.00 in Summer and 15.00 in Winter. Aer Arann also provide a shuttle bus from Galway tourist office.

Island Ferries (Co Galway)
All year round service 10.30 and 18.30 everyday ( 18.00 winter schedule ) direct to Inis Meain from Ros A Mhíl, crossing takes 45 minutes. Return – 08.15 and 16.30 everyday. Ferry shuttle bus from Merchants Road Galway City centre one hour prior to sailings.

Inter-island service
Doolin 2 Aran Ferries and Doolin Ferries both operate an inter island service between the 3 islands during the summer season. There is an all year round inter-island ferry service between Inis Meian and Inis Oirr.
 
 
Walking To An Dún From Ferry Port
A Taxi is available at pier on Inis Meain. To walk to An Dún from ferry port. Walk directly up to church 30 minutes, go right and we are located a few minutes from church.  Property is clearly marked "An Dún".
 
We are located right next door to John Millington Synge museum and at the foot of the 4,000 year old stone fort Dún Chunchuir.  The grocery shop and pub are within 10 minutes walk on same road.
 
 
Directions to Rós A Mhíl and Connamara Airport From Galway City
Both are located on the R336 on the coast road west of Galway city passing Barna and An Spidéal, continue on the R336 until you pick up signs for Airport and Ros A Mhíl ferry port. Allow at least one hour from western outskirts of Galway city.
